I am happy to say that after a period procrastination I have finally updated my website using squarespace who have been absolutely brilliant in guiding me through the process.

The site is made up of galleries of new work and project work. I will be updating and developing it over the coming months, but in essence I am really pleased with the look and feel of the site.

It's been a busy time

I have been helping out with Exploration Architecture's recent exhibition, 'Designing with Nature', at the Architecture Foundation. For which I have photographed the studio objects that inform the design of buildings and systems. 

I have also made a series of short films that explain how the practice has developed four of their latest projects : The Biorock Pavilion, The Biomimetic Office, The Sahara Forest Project, and The Mountain Data Centre. 

The exhibition has been very successful and has been extended for a further four weeks to the 11th April.

Millennium Images have just posted their recent Tearsheets and I am really pleased to have two covers in the selection. As always, it is good to be in such great company.

I am very pleased that my image of Cedric & Eoban has been selected for the Renaissance Photography Prize 2013. The standard of the entries is outstanding and the exhibition is in support of an important cause. See details below.

EXHIBITION DETAILS

We are delighted to announce that the Renaissance 2013 Exhibition takes place at the exclusive Wapping Project Bankside gallery from 3-7 September. The gallery is located a short walk from Tate Modern on London's vibrant Southbank.

AWARDS CEREMONY

Please join us at the champagne reception and awards ceremony on 5 September where we will announce the main winner for Best Single Image and the main winner for Best Series, as well as the three Category Winners(Single Images) and the Runner-Up Prize (Series).

Tickets cost £55, with all proceeds going to The Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care to support younger women with breast cancer.

Photographers who have been shortlisted for a prize will receive a free double ticket to the event.

I enjoyed taking pictures at the Boma Garden Centre in Islip Street, Kentish Town, for their new website which will be up and running very soon. It is such a beautiful place, with lovely staff who are both knowledgable and helpful.

  Brand Design in Bermondsey the other week. 

What a cool part of town for an office, down by the docks and canals along the Thames down river from Tower Bridge. Nice eateries and somewhere to watch the world go by ....

Something for the time of year ... an evocative road trip around San Francisco by Todd Hido just published in foam magazine. 

millennium catalogue

The latest Millennium Images Catalogue has recently been released and it is good to have work in such a very lovely object. 

The catalogue showcases work by 325 individuals - established names, such as Chris Harrison, Nadege Meriau, Simon Norfolk, Michael Ormerod, and Edgar Martins, appear alongside many rising young stars. 

I love the paired down approach and ‘naked bound’ spine that exposes intricate orange stitching. The catalogue was designed by Studio Thomson.

world youth guitar festival 2012

The wonderful folks at the World Youth Guitar Festival, WYGF, have launched the dates and venue for Summer 2013. 

The new website features my portrait photography of participants from the 2011 Cheltenham Festival. 

It is a truly fabulous event for aspiring guitarists 8 - 18 of any ability and includes coaching, ensembles, workshops, classes and much much more.

A newly devised performance of Shakespeare's Antony & Cleopatra (Act 2 Sc.2) adapted and directed by Ed Viney, was performed outside the newly completed Jubilee Gardens WC Pavilion by Mark Power Architects, on Sunday 1st July 2012.

The barge she sat in, like a burnish'd throne,

Burnt on the water. The poop was beaten gold,

Purple the sails, and so perfumèd that

The winds were love-sick with them; the oars were silver,

Which to the tune of flutes kept stroke, and made

The water which they beat to follow faster,

As amorous of their strokes. For her own person,

It beggar'd all description: she did lie

In her pavilion—cloth of gold, of tissue—

O'er-picturing that Venus where we see

The fancy outwork nature.

time for an update

mark power's 'jubiloo'

I have been following the progress of Mark Power's building at Jubilee Garden's on the South Bank, opened by Kate Hoey, MP for Vauxhall on Thursday 24th May. 

It was good to meet the staff who will be managing the super plush public convenience. Kim (pictured on the burnish'd throne) and her colleagues have been recruited from the Waterloo Job Shop and will on site throughout the Jubilee celebrations and beyond.

The launch event was serenaded by a local community choir who had concocted some appropriate lyrics for the building.
